2007 – The Year That Was

December 31, 2007

So, 365 days are almost up. How was your 2007?

A few significant events took place this year. Ok, maybe less than a few which means I don’t have to blog too much :D

First is of course my love life, my ex. Sad that it didn’t last but memories were good for a solid 6 months. It certainly taught me how to read into people a bit more and be weary about the guys I meet and decide to hook up with. So far the conclusion is as such – good friends are hard to make because sex is always on the minds of guys. When people get too friendly with you, its a sign that they’re interested in you …. physically :P Tough luck. True friends exist, too few, but circumstances change when they get hitched. Believe me. You will always have a bunch you call acquaintance but really connecting with them takes time and most importantly, reciprocation.

Second would be the passing of my two pet cats Ginger and Ziggy. God knows what ailed them, but Ginger seemed to had a tougher time. Rest in peace. The house is actually less chaotic and maintenance free with two less cats to take care of .. pets do come and go.

This is all I can remember so far, will update when memories come flying back but the rest of 2007 was pretty much mediocre so to say.

The next post would be about my NYE drunk-out party. So watch out for that excitement. I wonder what weird encounters awaits me this time :)

Frangipani 20071228

December 29, 2007

Yesterday was the first time in ages since I stepped into Frangi.

It felt weird not having CJ there since we always hang out in there together. Made some new friends, one who was particularly cute and popular among my friends at the same time. I was quite taken aback (more disgusted actually) at a friend who was so obviously throwing himself at the cutie. You can so go and sleep with him if you want (which was VERY obvious) but please be more discreet when you try to pick up someone and not be so slutty in your ways. It’s so degrading.

A fashion show that was part of the 4 day Christmas celebration was on. One word – Horrid. The only thing saving it was the hot models, some of them came out really skimpy which was what all the hungry boys were waiting for. I also have to say that the models came out gradually hotter as the earlier models were just mediocre. Not really a crowd pleaser I must say, especially in a bar filled with hundreds of gay men.

A few weird incidents happened which I’m too lazy to elaborate. But believe me, it was weird indeed having a stranger tickling you on the dancefloor only to find out he’s mistaken you for a friend of his. It was a very cute and embarrassing moment I must say. A new pick up tactic perhaps? Yes, he was cute

Overall, the night was kind of mediocre. I was told that the crowd was more pleasing last week but what the heck, sometimes I wonder why I rave about going there in the first place. Its always the same week after week. The only difference is who you hang out with, the people you know who are there, how drunk you are and how well people are able to carry out a conversation with you.

Shiny Shiny Baby!

December 17, 2007

So … after 3 years of waiting, I finally got it done

I got my navel pierced!!!

I’ve been thinking about it for a very long time but never got around to actually doing it. In fact, 2 of my friends had theirs done just after I revealed to them my intentions to pierce my navel and for that, I felt teased. It all happened right after Christmas shopping at 1 Utama on Saturday. Thank God Mich and I managed to find a parking spot without much hassle as the queue leading into the complex was unbelievable. So after buying a nice pair of beige corduroy jeans (I’m a sucker for Corduroy) from Padini and strolling around for cheap sales and whatnot, we decided head back home as it was Mich’s mother’s birthday that night and I was invited to go dine with the family :)

On the way out, I asked Mich if I should take the plunge and get my navel pierced as we still had time before dinner. The decision was an easy one since Mich was already fed up with me whining about getting it done. So I was told to shut up, stop whining and head straight to Sri Hartamas .. hehe.

I wasn’t nervous at all until I laid down on a dentist like chair at the parlour. Before that, I was given a consent form to fill. So the procedure went on, done by a very beautiful girl mind you. First, she had to shave off some hair around my navel as it was quite bushy around there … it felt somewhat erotic in a weird way, having someone else shave your bodily hairs for you. Then alcohol wipes were used to disinfect the navel area. She had me stand up with my hands by my side while she marked the position of the stud with a marker. Satisfied with her marking, it was back to laying on my back. Since it was a reputable piercing and tattoo parlour, all equipments were sterilized to ensure client safety. A clamp like device which looked more like a tweezer was used to clamp the skin on top of my navel, ensuring enough of flesh is pierced without slipping.

Then the horror came!

The needle was as thick as a f*cking toothpick! It was a special type of needle where the first part of the stud will be easily installed when the piercing is done. So there I was, laying down in the cold room with Mich having a big grin on her face. She’s been through it before – TWICE! So she knew what it was like. I was told to take a deeeep breath and the moment I exhaled, I was skewered. Honestly, the pain wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be, so it was more of an ant bite and it was only painful the moment the sharp end of the needle pierces the skin. I didn’t feel the part where the needle travelled through the flesh and emerged on the other end. Sounds gory huh? :P

….. and for your information, this was done WITHOUT ANY ANESTHETICS!

Once the needle was through, she inserted the bottom half of the stud and counted to 3 before she pulled out the needle. Knowing i’d expect pain by the count of 3, the needle was already out by the count of 2 and yes, removing the needle was painful as well. Once all that had been done, she screwed in the top part of the stud and showed me how to clean the pierced area with an antiseptic solution provided.I left a happy client knowing my wish has been fulfilled after a long wait of 3 years :)

It costed me RM 140 altogether which was rather pricey. Mich was mistaken when she told me it was only RM 80 when she remembered that price was in Sunway Pyramid, not Borneo Ink.Anyways, I got my money’s worth knowing the piercer was an experienced one and the equipments were sterilized. It wasn’t painful once I left, but was more of a minor sore feeling for a couple of hours which wasn’t much of a problem. There are a few things I’m not allowed to do for a month such as sit ups and swimming in freshwater. The wound is expected to be good after 2 weeks but total healing time may be up to 4 – 6 months … sometimes up to a year depending on how well you take care of it.

No one in the family knows as of yet, and the reveal may be on Christmas Eve when the whole family is down in KL to celebrate. I guess they’ll be OK with it since my sister has a tattoo and they didn’t say anything unsupportive. I can’t wait to see the looks on their face – it’s going to be priceless :D

A Different Frequency

December 6, 2007

Perhaps M was right on my future, that I will settle down with a Caucasian partner reason being because I’m just not Malaysian enough or do not have that Malaysian personality for people here. Maybe it’s just both our lifestyles, having a lot of Eurasian influence that are foreign to many many Asians or perhaps known to, but just doesn’t get to them.

To further solidify her statement, I had another go at Asian porn. It just didn’t do anything for me, not that I wasn’t turned on or anything ….Something was missing .. and after giving it much thought I concluded that I had very high standards for Asian men – they must be God damn gorgeous if they were to be porn actors. Caucasian men receives much less scrutiny from me, anything goes as long as they don’t appear to be some discovered sea creature washed up on shore.

HotCutie

Now, if only all Asian porn actors are as hot and cute as the lad above, boy, take me to heaven!

So there … I have given much thought about settling with a non-asian but who knows what the future hold for me? For now, I’ll just have to make the best with what I have on my platter.

Funny how we tend to ponder on life in the next 10 years … what do YOU see in your crystal ball?
